Laney put forth a valiant comeback but needed to block a White Oak field goal at the end of the game to seal the victory. Despite being shut down by the Hoggard defense the week before, Shakeem Bryant scored three touchdowns as the Bucs held on for the 27-26 win.
Laney improved to 5-4, 2-3 in the Mideastern Conference with the win.
Ashley enters this Friday’s game with the same 2-3 conference mark, but are 4-6 overall. The Screamin’ Eagles had last week off, which according to Coach Dylan Dimock, was welcomed. Ashley has had two weeks to rest up and get healthy as the two in town rivals prepare to finish the regular season in Buc Town.
