With rain coming down and rain forecasted in Wilmington the tournament was moved to Fayetteville, NC on Saturday - the Lady Hurricanes had 1 hr to pack up and make arrangements in Fayetteville. CFA dominated the first day(Saturday) by sending all 6 singles players into the semi-finals and all 3 doubles teams to the semi-finals after a long night of play. CFA
came back on Sunday morning at 8:30am and dominated winning state
championships in 4 out of the 6 singles flights and 2 out of 3 doubles
flights. CFA outdistanced a strong Covenant Day team and a young
Spartanburg Day School team. CFA completes the season with a 19-1 overall record, 8-0 conference record and championship, and their 2nd state title in 3 years. This was a great day for CFA Tennis. Congratulations to this team and Coach Beverly Blalock and Paula Sneeden. The 4 Seniors on the team go out on top and the team only loses 4 out of their top 8 and only 4 out of their top 13 players to help defend their state title next year.
