After falling behind 7-0, the Ashley Screamin’ Eagles were able to respond with a touchdown of their own that tied the game at seven. From there, however, it was all Durham Hillside. With a 28 point outburst, they seized a 35-7 halftime lead, on their way to a 55-7 first round win.
Ashley finishes the season with a 5-7 mark, and a bunch of young players who will return for Coach Dimock next season. Starting quarterback Zach Finnegan was just a sophomore this year and the Eagles will have 27 players eligible to return in 2008.
