#1 Hoggard Ready For Pine Forest

November 16th, 2007 · No Comments

After defeating Hoke County 31-8 in the first round of the North Carolina football playoffs, The Hoggard Vikings will host Pine Forest tonight at Viking Stadium. Hoggard, now 11-0 on the season, will look to continue their winning ways against Fayetteville Pine Forest who advanced with a big 41-17 win over Sanford.
Scott Braswell told the Cape Fear Sports Report, “Pine Forest is a typical Fayetteville football team, athletic and tough.” While they are only 6-6 on the season, they play in the very competitive Two Rivers League and the Vikings can’t look past the Trojans. The keys to the game figure to revolve around turnovers and Pine Forest’s ability to move the ball against the Hoggard defense. Pine Forest can’t afford to lose the turnover battle and need to avoid getting pounded in the battle over field position. So far, no opponent has been successful in these areas, hence the Vikings’ undefeated record.
Come on out and bundle up folks. It’s going to be football playoff weather tonight!
