LANEY LADY BUCS POST ANOTHER WIN

December 15th, 2007 · No Comments

The Laney girls basketball team raced out to a 29-6 lead at the half on way to their 48-19 victory over Jacksonville at Michael Jordan Gymnasium on Friday night.

The Lady Bucs were led in scoring by Shatara Jackson who outscored the visiting Cardinals herself as she poured in 20 points. Kabrina Truesdale added 11, while Alysha Henry and Jenae Baker scored six points a piece.

Head Coach Sherri Tynes, pictured right, said after the game, “We were a little sluggish, not as sharp with our cuts as we needed to be…anytime you get a win it’s a good thing, and we were able work on some things, which is a good. We’ve got a couple good seniors Shatara Jackson and Jenae Baker are our team leaders. We’re trying to get everyone on the same page, we have a lot of youth.” Coach said of her goals and expectations for the team this year, “We want to play hard, execute, and see what happens.”
