After winning at home on Friday night, the Wilmington Sea Dawgs lost on the road Saturday to the Maryland Nighthawks by a score or 123-116.
High scorers for the Sea Dawgs were Charles Ward with 38 points and Jason Pryor with 22 points.
After opening the season 5-0, the Sea Dawgs have dropped three of the last five, but are still in second place in the Premier Basketball League’s East division at 7-3.
The team will also be without one of their leading scorers for the rest of the year. Sea Dawgs director of communications Robin DeVido stated, “It is with regret that the Wilmington Sea Dawgs announce that Cedric McGinnis will be leaving the team effective immediately due to personal reasons.” No further information was provided.
The Sea Dawgs next play at home game on Wednesday Feb 13th at 7:00 p.m. against the Rochester Razorsharks who have the best record in the PBL. Tip-off is at 7:00 p.m. at the Schwartz Center. The theme for this game will be “Military Appreciation Night.”
