On Friday, the UNCW hockey team welcomed Lynchburg College to the Wilmington Ice House and as CFSR photographer Eric Bartsch put it, “I’ve never seen anything like that.”
Like what?
Like 17-1. Now that’s what you call obliteration.
On Saturday, NC State came-a-calling and were sent-a-packing. While they were able to keep it “close,” the Wolfpack were no match for the Seahawks and UNCW skated away with the 7-2 win.
UNCW has now won seven consecutive games dating back to December. They have outscored their last three opponents by a combined score of 31-3.
The Seahawks will finish the regular season with two road games next weekend before the BRHC playoffs begin. Friday, NC State will get another shot at UNCW, this time as the host; they topped the Teal 7-4 in Raleigh back in December. Saturday, UNCW will play at North Carolina in the ‘Hawks first game this year against the Tar Heels.
