New Hanover Girls’ Soccer Team Beats Lumberton

The New Hanover girls’ soccer team continues to roll.  On Friday night, they beat Lumberton 4-1 to maintain they perfect record.  

   

Head coach Al Pastore told the Cape Fear Sports Report, “I’m very pleased.  It is the first goal we have allowed, and it was on a free kick, so there wasn’t a let down on defense, except for the foul, but it was a perfect shot in the top left corner.  The team is playing well.”

   

Lexi Herring got things started in the seventh minutes for the ‘Cats before Erin Koballa tallied two goals, the latter putting NHHS up 3-0 in the fourteenth minute.  Roxanna Boyd was able to find the back of the net in the 38th minute as New Hanover seized a 4-0 halftime lead.

   

Lumberton’s senior captain Kim Currie became the first Wildcat opponent to score on them, a perfect shot from 25 yards out.
