Baseball - Kelley Hits Walkoff Homer For Ashley Win

 

Ashley was out hit by Winslow Township from New Jersey 12-9, but in the end Ashley had more runs in the 11-10 walkoff win.

 

Andrew Kelley, Marcel Joffe, David Thumser, and Jonathan Kelley all combined for the pitching victory. Andrew Kelley, 2 for 3, 4 RBI, Trey Euverard, 2 for 4,with a homerun and a double, 3RBI, Brennen Poston, 2 for 4, and Jonathan Kelley, 2 for 3, 3RBI (including the game ending walk off homerun) were the hitting stars. 

 

Girls’ Soccer - Hoggard Cruises 4-0

 

Hoggard remains at the top of the Mideastern Conference after posting a 4-0 win over West Brusnswick on Thursday.  The Vikings are now 9-1, 6-1 in the league.

 

New Hanover continued to toughest part of the schedule and fell 1-0 in overtime to White Oak, the third ranked 3A team in the state.  New Hanover dips to 8-3 overall, 4-3 in Mideastern play.

 

Ashley posted their first conference win on Tuesday, but couldn’t make it two in a row as they were beat by Jacksonville 3-0.  It was a tight first half, with Jacksonville making it 1-0 just before halftime, and the Cardinals would add two second half tallies.  The Lady Eagles are now 3-6-1, 1-5.

 

Softball - Laney Downs North Brunswick

 

The Lady Bucs just can’t be beat on the diamond these days.  The sit a top the Mideastern standings with a perfect 4-0 record and went out of league play on Thursday to defeat a very good North Brunswick team  9-5.
