Seahawk Softball Squad Swept In Series

PHILADELPHIA – Senior Amanda Hastings went 2-for-3 with two RBI and sophomore Katrina Gaudier allowed just three hits in four and two-thirds innings of relief to lead Drexel to a 5-2 victory over UNCW in the finale of a three-game Colonial Athletic Association softball series Sunday at Drexel Field.

ACC #1 Conference? Phooey.

After being rated as the #1 conference, the real ACC showed up in the NCAA Tournament this weekend.  The names on the front of the uniforms are the same, but don’t tell me the ACC was better than the Pac 10, Big 12 or even the Big East this year.  It wasn’t the same ACC.

Seahawks Get No-Hit and Swept In Saturday Doubleheader

PHILADELPHIA – Sophomore Breanna Gomez hurled a no-hitter in game two to lead Drexel to a doubleheader sweep of UNCW, 9-4 and 2-0, in Colonial Athletic Association softball action Saturday afternoon at Drexel Field. In was the conference opener for both schools.

Mehrtens Joins Wilmington Hall of Fame Board

WILMINGTON, N.C. – UNC Wilmington Director of Athletics Kelly Mehrtens has been named to the Board of Directors for the Greater Wilmington Sports Hall of Fame.
 
      Mehrtens and her fellow board members are busy preparing for the group’s upcoming induction May 4 at the Burney Center on campus.
