Lacrosse: Tuesday - Ashley Screamin Eagles Fall to Cape Fear Academy 7-6, Hoggard Takes Down #4
Cape Fear took a 3-0 lead at halftime, but Ashley owned the 3rd quarter putting in 4 goals to Cape Fear’s 1, tying the score at 4. The 4th quarter was very evenly matched with the game coming down to the last few seconds. Cape Fear was up 7-6 and Ashley tried to get chances to win the game but in the end came up just a little short.
Hoggard came into Tuesday’s clash ranked ninth in the state, but were the underdog as they hosted #4 Apex. We’ll see about those rankings next week as Hoggard pulled out the big 10-9 overtime win and with a victory over Holly Springs on Friday, the Vikings should move up a few slots in next week’s poll.
