WILMINGTON, N.C. – Visting Old Dominion claimed the doubles point and swept five singles matches for a 6-1 Colonial Athletic Association women’s tennis victory over host UNC Wilmington in the regular season finale for both clubs Sunday at the varsity courts.

The Lady Monarchs closed out the regular campaign with a 13-9 overall record and 3-2 conference ledger. The Lady Seahawks had a three-match winning streak snapped and now stand 17-9-1 and 4-4.

ODU won matches at No. 1 and No. 3 doubles to take the doubles point. UNCW’s Priscilla Roberts and Hartley Collins did nip ODU’s Daniela Cohen and Joanna Dobrowolska, 7-6 (5), in a tiebreaker at No. 2 doubles.

Freshman Chelsea Kahle was the lone winner for the Lady Seahawks in singles. The rookie from Punta Gorda, Fla., knocked off ODU’s Daniela Cohen, 6-4, 6-1. Another Seahawk freshman, Lindsay Leblang, pushed ODU’s Barbara Costa before losing, 4-6, 6-3, 10-7.
