WILMINGTON, N.C. – The UNC Wilmington men’s soccer program will stage its Fourth Annual Seahawk Soccer Open, sponsored by Bridgestone, on Aug. 8, at Echo Farms Country Club.

Registration for the Captain’s Choice tournament begins at 11:30 a.m., followed by lunch at Noon and a 1 p.m. shotgun start. Registration is on a first-come, first-serve basis.

 The entry fee is $100 per player, $400 for a team of four and $500 for a team and hole sponsorship. Other sponsorship opportunities are also still available.

 A silent auction will be held, featuring items such as jewelry, golf packages, sports memorabilia and tickets to college and professional sporting events.

 The tournament is designed to help generate interest in UNCW athletics and the men’s soccer program. Revenues from the outing will help defer costs associated with hosting an in-season tournament for the 2009 season.
