Junior Carmen Perez-Narbon fired a one-under 71 to lead UNC Wilmington on the second day of competition Tuesday at the Ron Moore Women’s Intercollegiate at the Highlands Ranch Golf Club.

Perez-Narbon moved into a tie for 27th with a two-round total of 153 (82-71). Junior Ashley Tait (69-77) is tied for seventh at two-over par (69-77=142) while freshman Sofia Hagsund (85-76=161) is tied for 58th (85-76=161). Senior Christie Appleton (80-82=162) and sophomore Cristina Manrique (83-81=164) round out the Seahawks entry.

UC Irvine’s Jane Chin (69-67=136) recorded a second round 67 to take a two-shot lead over Denver’s Stephanie Sherlock (67-71=138) with a two-day total of 136. San Jose’s Erica Moston is in third with a tournament total of 140.    

UNCW combined for a team-total 305 to remain in 10th place with a two-result of 619 (314-305=619). Denver maintained its lead, posting a second-round low two-under 286 to take an 18 stroke lead over second-place San Jose State(293-298=591). TCU is third with a 18-over-par total of 594 (305-289=594).

Final round action at the Ron Moore Women’s Intercollegiate gets underway Wednesday at 8:30 a.m. MST.
