
The Hoggard Tennis team was beaten 5-4 in a nine match epic battle Thursday at East Chapel Hill, with the contest being decided by the last doubles match.
The Vikings had not lost all season coming into the state semi-final yesterday, but were edged by last year’s state runner-up. Hoggard concluded a fabulous season with a 17-1 record and the team of Maggie Dickens and Kaitlin Burns (pictured) won the State Doubles Title.
East Chapel Hill will face Myers Park on Saturday in the State Championship match.
