Laney Buccaneers Capture Topsail Pirates’ Booty

Laney started the 08-09 season with a bang, as the Buccaneers had 7 of 14 wrestlers earn championships and 10 total place winners at Topsail’s Battle at the Beach.  Laney was the team champion followed by First Flight HS, Topsail HS and Northern Durham HS.

UNCW Volleyball Team Can’t Find CAA Win

WILMINGTON, N.C. – Michelle Johnson recorded a game-high 12 kills and Kelly Turner chipped in 10 as James Madison defeated UNC Wilmington, 3-0 (25-22, 25-17, 22-19), in Colonial Athletic Association volleyball action Sunday at Sinclair Gymnasium. It was the season finale for both schools.
