With the lack of local sports in our area to close out November, the December issue of the Cape Fear Sports Report will come out a bit later than usual so that we can incorporate some hoops action as the local teams finally get back into the local gyms.  The issue will hit the stands on 12/8.

Included in this month’s issue will be previews for the Time Warner Classic and Brogden Holiday Classic high school basketball tournaments which are sure to provide good entertainment around the Holidays.

We will also probe the start of the 2008-2009 season for the UNCW men’s and women’s hoops teams.  The Seahawks return to Trask after playing in tournaments over Thanksgiving.  Is either team going to challenge for the CAA title?  We’ll answer that and more…

The December issue will also have features by Jim Clark on the NFL, Manley Gaddy on the Carolina Hurricanes, and Jesse Jones on the heart break of losing in the high school playoffs senior year.  

Can anyone stop the Heels this year on the hardwood?  Can the Panthers win the NFC South?

The December issue contains updates on all the pro and college sports, not to mention high school wrestling and a look back at the New Hanover Boys’ Soccer team that played for the state championship.

As the final issue of 2008, we will also look back at our top feel good stories of the year including community members who made a difference.
