The New Hanover boys and girls teams will welcome Greenville Rose to Brogden Hall Friday.  The teams met on November 25, with the Wildcats winning both contests up in Greenville.

In the opener, the Lady Cats raced out to a 29-3 halftime lead over the Rampants on their way to a 51-23 victory.  Then in the nightcap, Jackiel Moore, pictured, scored 32 points as the NHHS boys needed overtime to dispatch of Rose and come up with the 76-74 win.

Laney is also at home on Friday as Pender visits Michael Jordan gymnasium.

The girls game features two of the top programs in the area.  Pender was 30-2 last season and played for the 1A state final, but the Lady Bucs were sectional champs themselves.

The Laney boys come into Friday’s contest with a 2-1 overall record after splitting a pair of games last weekend at the Goldsboro Tournament.

The 3-1 Hoggard Viking boys basketball team will shoot for another home win at Hebbe Gym Friday as they welcome Panther Creek.

The Vikings enter the contest having won 28 of their last 32 in Hebbe, but will have their hands full trying to contain senior forward Earnest Ross who has committed to play at Auburn.

Hoggard is coming off a dominating 61-31 win on Tuesday as they throttled Conway, gathering 21 assists on their 24 baskets.

There is no girls game… the boys JV will tip at 6:00, varsity at 7:30.

Ashley is also in action, but they are on the road playing at North Brunswick.

The boys team is coming off a 68-54 win on Tuesday over Topsail in which Micah Allen dropped in 19 points.

The Lady Eagles also defeated Topsail, winning by 17 points 51-34.  Ashley Altman led the way with 15 points.
