Hoggard Boys’ Basketball Team De-Throwns Jacksonville

Stilman White scored 19 points to lead Hoggard to a 65-57 win over Jacksonville on Thursday night in Wilmington.  The Vikings (14-5, 5-2) hit 10 three-pointers and got solid contributions from the bench in winning their second straight game.  Jacksonville (16-3, 6-2) is ranked sixth in this week’s NCPreps.com 3A media poll.

Laney Wrestlers Make History

The Laney Buc wrestling team capped an undefeated Mideastern Conference schedule with a win over Jacksonville on Wednesday.
The Bucs have now finished atop the league standings since 2005, and became the first school ever to win five consecutive Mideastern Conference crowns.

All Wildcats; New Hanover Boys’ and Girls’ Basketball Teams Net Wins Over Ashley

New Hanover beat the Screamin Eagles 67-59 in the teams’ first showdown earlier in the season on the strength of 22 points from Jackiel Moore.   On Tuesday, they were without their leading scorer, however, New Hanover didn’t miss a beat as they thumped the Screamin’ Eagles 71-44.
