WILMINGTON, NC – September 30, 2009 – The Cape Fear Fencing Association is pleased to announce that it is the recipient of a $1500 grant from the North Carolina Amateur Sports Endowment. North Carolina Amateur Sports (NCAS) is the 501(c) (3) non-profit organization that hosts the State Games of North Carolina. Each year NCAS disburses endowment fund grants to individuals and organizations in North Carolina to promote amateur athletics. The Cape Fear Fencing Association was one of only sixteen organizations from across the state so honored out of an applicant pool of ninety.

The CFFA plans to use the grant for the purchase of equipment in order to continue to grow the association’s ever-expanding youth fencing programs.
