New Hanover gets a team in Holly Springs making their first visit to the NCHSAA 4A Playoffs, but certainly shouldn’t overlook the Golden Hawks in the first round and start thinking about round three… on paper the Wildcats look like they should advance that far before being a underdog as they dodged a potential second round match up against powerhouse Terry Sanford who had to forfeit due to using an inelligible player.

In 4AA action, Cary was only 5-6, but the Imps can’t be taken lightly by Hoggard; they played a tough schedule and will be well prepared for the post-season.  That said, if Hoggard can play Viking football with plenty of discipline and few errors, this should be a win for the now eight-time defending Mideastern Conference Champs.

Cary actually played New Hanover’s foe Holly Springs back in September;  Holly Springs won 21-14.
