In round two, New Hanover wasn’t quite sure who they’d play, now in round four, they knew the who, but had to wait until Tuesday morning to find out where and when.
After posting a 21-10 win in round three, New Hanover advanced to the East Regional Final, a game that was thought to be played Friday night against, and at, Harnett Central High School. As of Monday night however, the only thing the Wildcats knew about the game that could punch their ticket for a chance to play for the State Championship… was their opponent.
Harnett comes in undefeated, ranked among the state’s top ten teams, but their field is apparently swamped, so they wanted to move the game to Campbell University.
How swamped is a different story.
After mudding out their 21-10 win, New Hanover certainly showed that they can slop it up. Harnett, or anybody else for that matter, would be wise to avoid a mud bowl against the Wildcats.
Campbell has no lights, so kickoff is slated for 1:30 pm on Saturday.
