Joe says: “Three words, Su-Per Bowl. With the most highlights this side of the Coaches Corner, it’s the Cape Fear Sports Report.”
Yes, Joe knows it is just two words, but didn’t know who was going to win as Mayor Saffo outpicks Joey [...]

November 19th, 2009 · No Comments
While it doesn’t look like the NFL is doing well in its “parity drive,” a closer study shows it couldn’t be doing a better job. In each conference, there are eleven teams with realistic shots at the six playoff spots up for grabs after Week 17.
Over the next four weeks, teams will either play themselves [...]

The World of Sports… According to Jim Clark

What a weekend. Both good and bad.
We have our World Series now and how many Cleveland Indians fans are saying, “Wow, C.C. Sabathia going against Cliff Lee. Two years ago, that was an intra-squad game in Spring Training.” The Indians were in the news this week hiring Manny Acta as their [...]

NFL Week 6 Winners… According To Jim Clark
October 16th, 2009 · No Comments
Despite being a league built on parity, the NFL is full of haves and have-nots. All teams have played at least a quarter of their games and nine of the 32 teams have either one or zero wins. There are also nine teams that have won all or all but one of their [...]

Living in a Fantasy World

I am a fan of the Dallas Cowboys, I always have been. However, because of my fantasy football team, I find myself in an awkward position week after week. You see on my fantasy football team I have two Philadelphia Eagles, LeShaun McCoy and Brent Celek, and, worst of all, the [...]

All right, life has been kicking my butt this week… so here is an abbreviated version of the Week 4 NFL season picks.
NY Giants @ Kansas City - gotta figure it will be closer than it appears to be on paper. Giants 42 - 10.
Baltimore @ New England - The Ravens may be the [...]

NFL Week 3… According to Jim Clark
September 26th, 2009 · No Comments
Man, Week 2 of the NFL season always gives me fits when I pick. Last week I think I was 9-7, but I honestly quit counting the wins and losses during the 4pm games.
JaMarcus Russell of the Oakland Raiders goes 7 of 24 for 109 yards and the Raiders win, while down the coast [...]

Panthers Far From Purr-fect, Get Hammered By Eagles
September 14th, 2009 · No Comments
There isn’t much to say here, but ouch. The Philadelphia Eagles looked like NFC Super Bowl contenders while the Panthers looked like a Pop Warner team Sunday as they pelted Carolina 38-10. Here’s the link to the highlights, but we have to say, you do so at your own risk… it aint pretty. [...]

Jim Clark’s Cape Fear Sports Report NFL Week One Predictions
September 8th, 2009 · No Comments
- Jim Clark
While the action on the field during the pre-season was relatively lackluster, the drama off the field makes the NFL a better soap opera than half the stuff written for network TV. Would anyone believe a quarterback un-retires for the third time, for a third different team? Or a guy gets out [...]
