US Open of Surfing Announces $100,000 Goes To Winner

Reef / Sweetwater Classic A Swell Time For All

Florida’s Aaron Cormican claimed his second title at the Reef-Sweetwater Pro-Am this weekend at Wrightsville Beach, but as WB local legend Ben Bourgeois, the unofficial host, put it, “Win or lose, it’s about having a good time with friends and family, that’s it.”

UNCW Surf Team Finishes Second at NSSA Nationals in California

None of the ACC or SEC schools can compete with UNCW when it comes to one sport at least.  After winning the NSSA East Coast Championship held at Sebastian Inlet (FL) back on April 18-19, the team was back at it two months later in California for the National Championships where they finished second.

Wrightsville Beach Longboard Association Announces 2009 Scholarship Winners

Every year, the WBLA provides two $1000 scholarships—one male and one female—to surfer scholars who will be attending college in the upcoming year. This year was an extraordinary year in that the club was able to provide additional scholarships to the runners-up in both categories.
